Elizabeth Scafa, CPA, CFP®, AEP®

Liz has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, banking, insurance and investment management. After being employed by some of the most well-respected firms in these industries, she founded Scafa Financial Services, LLC, with the goal of providing unparalleled personalized service to her clients. Liz’s husband, Dave, ran and grew a successful CPA and financial services practice, and in 2004, they merged their businesses where they offered a full range of financial services at Scafa Financial Services, LLC for more than 20 years.

To accommodate additional growth and add bandwidth to the existing financial services team, Scafa Financial Services, LLC partnered with and rebranded as TruPlan Financial Advisors in September 2025. Liz's experience and knowledge will continue to give her clients a unique perspective when it comes to making financial decisions that affect their lives but now with added capacity and a larger team to support her.

Liz graduated magna cum laude from Baruch College of the City University of New York and is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner® and Accredited Estate Planner®. She is insurance licensed in life, accident and health, variable annuities, and variable life and property casualty, holds Series 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations and is an investment advisor representative.

She is currently a member of the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a former president and current member of the Mercer County Estate Planning Council and a former member and secretary of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners.

Liz and Dave live in central New Jersey. They are the proud parents of Stephanie, who resides in Bologna, Italy, and Christine, who resides in Jersey City, NJ. In her free time, Liz enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
